  • Auckland / General Management

Description

The Company
This is a well-established, high-growth, NZ-owned and operated service business with a strong reputation for exceptional customer service and delivery. Operating nationwide, the company provides essential services and products to commercial building owners and operators, helping them comply with the Building Act and meet HSE requirements.

As part of their growth journey, they’re now seeking a dynamic, commercially driven leader to step into the role of Regional General Manager, overseeing both the Auckland and Whangarei branches – with Auckland being the largest and most strategic site in the national network.

The Opportunity
This pivotal leadership position reports to the COO and is responsible for performance, growth, and operational excellence for the Northern Region, including the branches in Auckland and Whangarei.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead and support a combined team of approx. 60+ staff, including technicians, administration, and management teams across both branches.
  • Drive performance in both Auckland and Whangarei, with a strong focus on commercial outcomes, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
  • Work closely with local and national sales teams to identify and convert new business opportunities and support ambitious growth targets.
  • Take ownership of regional budgets, P&L, KPIs, and resource planning to ensure alignment with national objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, suppliers, and partners in the upper North Island.
  • Foster a high-performing team culture across both branches, focusing on staff engagement, capability development, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead regional health and safety performance in collaboration with the H&S Manager, ensuring best practice standards are always upheld.
  • Contribute to broader business strategy and as part of the national operations leadership group, provide input to national leadership on regional opportunities and challenges.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll enjoy both strategic influence and day-to-day operational involvement, guiding your teams and driving meaningful, sustainable growth.

What’s in it for you.
This is a rare chance to step into a senior, regional leadership role in a business that is growing rapidly and investing in its people and systems. You’ll be empowered to lead change, shape performance, and make your mark across two important regions.

To be successful in your application you will bring drive and energy, combining a commercial and strategic mindset with a commitment to building a remarkable team culture. You will be passionate about being involved – while this role will see you develop and deliver strategy, you will also enjoy getting directly involved in the day-to-day business and being a visible and approachable leader.

The business is well-positioned for further growth. You can expect to have a good level of autonomy, with the opportunity to formulate and implement your initiatives. For the right candidate, there is the potential to develop your career as the business grows.
